1. Read the following passage and answer the questions given below it :
When Socrates was an old man, his fame had spread far and wide. The house of many a rich man opened its door to him for people felt honoured to have him as their guest. By degrees a special group of pupils gathered around him and followed him wherever he went. Among them was a young man called Plato, who treasured every word which his master uttered and in later years became famous as a teacher as Socrates himself.

15.Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions sets thereon :

Florence Nightingale was born at Florence in Italy on may 15, 1820. Her sole ambition in life was to be a nurse. She spent years visiting hospital after hospital. Day and night, she visited every bed in the hospital to see that no patient was neglected. Every night she would take her lamp and move from bed to bed. The soldiers called her The Lady with the Lamp. The world remembers her by this name, ever since.
